The Forward Systems Liquid Loss-in-Weight Feeder is designed to provide gravimetric continuous or batch feeding of a liquid into a process. Liquid Loss-in- Weight Feeders are frequently applied in continuous compounding extruder processes where precise feeding of temperature-sensitive liquids or liquids with variable viscosities is required. These liquids are often waxy or viscous and must be heated to flow properly.
If the liquid to be fed must be maintained at a constant or elevated temperature, a strip heater or tank equipped with a heat exchange jacket using oil or water may be employed. Liquid temperature is controlled by a thermostat with a safety shutoff setting. An insulating jacket is placed over the tank. The connecting lines to and from the jacketed tank are also heated and thermally insulated.
